This time, I came to Hangzhou to hide from the autumn tiger and decided to stay at Merchant Marco Hotel Hangzhou for three days. I originally planned to use this place as a temporary resting place to explore West Lake, but when I opened the door, I realized that the facilities and details of this room were much more thoughtful than I expected.
I booked a high area lake view king size bed room, and the first impression when I opened the door was that the space was spacious and bright, without the cramped feeling commonly seen in hotels in the core area of West Lake. An embedded storage platform has been installed at the entrance, allowing luggage to be directly spread out on the table without having to squat on the ground to search for clothes. Next to it is an intelligent disinfection shoe cabinet with drying function. Sweating sports shoes from walking around West Lake can be put in, making it dry and odorless when you come back at night. In addition, the changed socks can also be easily dried, which is very friendly to tourists who have been walking all day.
What surprised me the most was the configuration of the sleeping area. The customized high count cotton bedding feels soft and does not collapse, and the mattress is a moderately supportive soft and hard design. After walking 20000 steps around West Lake, lying down instantly relieved the fatigue all over my body. Both sides of the bed are equipped with charging panels with USB-C and USB-A dual interfaces, so you don't have to look for charging heads everywhere. You can charge your phone, headphones, and power bank at the same time. The intelligent control panel at the head of the bed is designed to be particularly thoughtful, allowing you to control the lighting, curtains, and air conditioning of the entire house without getting up. When you wake up at night, press the "night light mode", and the sensing small light on the ground will slowly light up, without being awakened by the glaring main light.
A widened wooden leisure table was placed by the window, paired with ergonomic soft pack chairs. Here, I organized travel photos and writer accounts, and sat for an afternoon without feeling sore. There are hidden Ethernet ports and docking stations under the desktop, making it easy to handle work files at any time. The panoramic double-layer soundproof glass by the window is a hidden bonus. After closing it, the noise of the lakeside commercial district downstairs is almost completely isolated, leaving only the West Lake breeze leaking in from the window, carrying a hint of osmanthus fragrance.
The configuration of the bathroom area exceeded expectations, with a thermostatic smart toilet seat that is warm to sit on, eliminating the need to bite your teeth and touch the cool seat cushion in autumn. The dual mode showerhead with top spray and handheld features produces dense and stable water. After taking a hot shower for a whole day, even the soreness and swelling in my calves have been relieved. The bathroom has undergone a complete separation of dry and wet areas, so there will be no water accumulation on the floor after taking a shower. It is particularly reassuring to step on the non slip floor tiles. In the embedded bathroom cabinet next to it, in addition to regular toiletries, there are also thoughtfully prepared makeup remover pads, care kits, and disposable bath bags. If you want to take a soothing hot bath, you don't need to prepare them separately.
Even the small details are done exceptionally well: the mineral water, tea drinks, and local specialty osmanthus tea bags in the mini bar are all free, the small refrigerator by the window keeps the temperature constant for preservation, and the fresh cut osmanthus flowers and cold drinks bought after visiting West Lake can be put in and used at any time. After three days of stay, there were no flashy internet celebrity decorations, and every facility accurately met the actual needs of travel accommodation. This is probably the most sincere intention of Merchant Marco Hotel Hangzhou.Show more
This three-day trip to Hangzhou, I decided to stay at Merchant Marco Hotel Hangzhou, and the biggest feeling after staying was that choosing the right hotel was like carrying the transportation and food maps around West Lake directly into my pocket, without wasting half of my travel time on commuting.
The hotel is located at No. 38 Pinghai Road in Shangcheng District, and the most convenient part is the transportation configuration: from Xiaoshan Airport, take Line 7 and transfer to Line 1 directly to Longxiangqiao Station, and walk 395 meters from Exit D. There is no need to take detours throughout the journey, even with a large suitcase, it is easy to walk. It's more convenient to come from Hangzhou East Station by taking Line 1 directly to Longxiangqiao. It takes only 7 minutes to walk from the subway to the doorstep, so there's no need to take a taxi or get stuck in traffic. As soon as you get off the high-speed train, you can go straight to the hotel to pack your luggage. Even to Hangzhou Station, it's only 2.5 kilometers away. If you catch the early train, it only takes 10 minutes to get there by taxi, so there's no need to rush out two hours in advance.
After leaving the hotel, there is a well connected transportation network. Walking 350 meters is Longxiangqiao Subway Station, and Line 1 connects core points such as Hangzhou East Station, Xiaoshan Airport, Wulin Square, and Xianghu Lake. If you want to go to any scenic spot in Hangzhou, you can almost always take the subway directly. If you don't want to take the subway, there is a bus stop just a few hundred meters away from the hotel entrance. There are multiple routes that go directly to Lingyin Temple, Leifeng Pagoda, and Hefang Street. If you don't want to walk or scan a shared bike, ride along Pinghai Road to the west, and you can reach West Lake in 10 minutes. The wind blows by your ear, and even traveling becomes a pleasure.
The surrounding facilities have engraved the word "convenience" into the details: walking downstairs for 5 minutes is the Yintai in77 business district, from internet famous milk tea shops to Hangzhou style dishes, from trendy shops to lifestyle supermarkets, you can find whatever you want downstairs. You can reach the shore of West Lake within a 10 minute walk, and take two steps along the lakeside pedestrian street to reach the music fountain. After watching the fountain in the evening, you can leisurely stroll back to the hotel without having to squeeze into the evening rush hour ride hailing service. There are countless Hangzhou local cuisines hidden within hundreds of meters around. A few steps down the stairs is the New Zhou Ji. If you want to eat authentic Hangzhou cuisine, steamed buns with scallions, and small Wonton, you can find them by turning a corner. You don't need to take a taxi to cross the region to find old brands.
Even friends who come by car don't have to worry at all. The hotel comes with a free underground parking lot and charging parking spaces. In the core commercial district of the lakeside, where every inch of land is valuable, you don't have to struggle to find paid parking spaces everywhere. After parking your car, you can walk around all the surrounding attractions, which is both worry free and cost-effective.
During the three days I lived here, I hardly wasted any time on rushing: in the morning, I took the subway for 10 minutes to stroll through the alleys of Old Hangzhou at Wulin Square, in the afternoon, I walked to West Lake to see the broken bridge and the remaining snow, in the evening, I watched the music fountain along the lakeside, and in the evening, I turned to the nearby pedestrian street for supper. No need to rush or take detours to commute, all the pace of play is relaxed and comfortable. Next time I come to Hangzhou for a visit, I will definitely choose Merchant Marco Hotel Hangzhou, after all, it is really rare to find a hotel by the West Lake that can achieve this level of transportation and surrounding convenience.Show more
